Vancouver Film School helps bring attention to Gratitude Week with their skills and passion.

Film Production students at Vancouver Film School, with the entire VFS community proudly behind them, volunteered to raise awareness for Gratitude Week by doing what they do best – capturing this incredible initiative for all to see. That meant creating a promo video in the days leading up to Gratitude Week, and an early morning documenting fundraising efforts on the street. It was all driven by a passion for using their craft to make a difference – and doing what they could to bring attention to what they see every day at school in the downtown core.

After an extremely rainy shoot, VFS Instructor Peter Helm said, “I was really impressed by their commitment as much to filmmaking in difficult conditions as to their passion for the cause. Daybreak brought full buckets of donations and footage for two short films that ‘give a damn.’” The VFS student filmmakers and editors who got involved were: Arun Fryer, Stijn Jonkhart, Forrest Wang, Isaiah Lester, Alex Evans, Hillary Hodges, Joshua Stern, Ross Zieroth, Pedro (Patricio) Pacheco, Layth Alkhatti, and Nathan Rogers.
